France, Dordogne, Moncalou

France, with its rich history stretching back thousands of years, is a veritable treasure trove of heritage, with each region revealing its own unique treasures. Among them, the Dordogne, located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, stands out for its undulating landscapes, medieval villages and renowned prehistoric sites. At the heart of this region lies Moncalou, a peaceful hamlet situated between the communes of Campagnac Les Quercy, Saint-Pompon and Florimont Gaumier. Perched high on the slopes of the Céou, Moncalou offers uninterrupted views over the Dordogne valley and the foothills of the Massif Central. The 23-metre-high Moncalou Panoramic Tower allows visitors to admire this exceptional panorama. Moncalou is also renowned for its vineyards, which were once among the largest in the Dordogne and numbered up to 2,700 hectares in 1870. The Chai de Moncalou continues the wine-making tradition of the Domme region. A stroll through the surrounding area reveals an authentic rural heritage, with dry-stone huts, wash-houses and dovecotes bearing witness to a rich agricultural past.

Moncalou embodies the essence of Périgord, combining unspoilt nature, cultural heritage and the French art of living.

Leisure

At the Domaine Symphonie Moncalou, all around and in the immediate vicinity, every moment is lived at your own pace. Nature walks, campfires under the stars, pétanque, reading or a siesta in the shade of an oak tree... Serenity is at home here. In the surrounding area, you can cycle or walk up to the panoramic tower, taste the local wines, explore the footpaths or visit the local producers.

In less than 30 minutes: canoeing, châteaux, caves, listed villages, markets, swimming or hot-air ballooning... the choice is yours.

And finally, if you can imagine...

After a morning spent exploring the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, still marvelling at the mineral beauty of the place, they headed to the bastide town of Domme for a refined lunch. Sitting on the terrace, they savoured local produce in a peaceful setting overlooking the valleys of the Périgord. The afternoon continued at the Château de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle. They strolled along the ramparts, contemplated the view over the Dordogne and let themselves be carried away by the history of the place. A timeless interlude, to the distant sound of cicadas. Back at the Domaine Symphonie Moncalou, a hot shower in the elegant Verdi bathroom gently washed away the day's fatigue. In the evening, they sat down by the brazier with a drink in hand. The sky blazed with stars and the crickets sang. They closed their eyes for a moment. They were simply there.

A discreet art of living, an exceptional setting, a precious serenity... What if this was your moment?
